Chlöe and Eric’s September wedding was a true DIY family affair. From the amazing tablescapes put together by her mother to the reno work on the barn by her dad, this Labor Day wedding celebration was going to make full use of all the gorgeous views at their family home and B & B, River Chase just outside Harpers Ferry, WV. The ceremony, cocktail hour and bar services all were planned for the out of doors where guests would enjoy the warm temperatures and late end of summer sunset. That is, until the remnants of Hurricane Harvey showed up on the radar, and the temperatures plummeted to the 50s. Then followed some mad scurrying to create an intimate indoor wedding ceremony inside the barn as well as several phone calls and texts to guests advising cold weather gear. We moved everything inside the barn and set up some auxiliary tenting for the cocktail hour. Guests sat at their dining tables and immediate family were placed on the dance floor, and what followed was one of the sweetest ceremonies I’ve ever witnessed. And the rain stopped in time to get some gorgeous pictures from the oh so talented Shannon at Sweet Caroline Photography.
