Indian Summer at Wild Goose Farm

How much do we love to work with the talented vendors we have right here in beautiful Jefferson County, West Virginia? When Shannon of Sweet Caroline Photography and Jeni from WestVirjeni asked if we’d be interested in participating in a combined Photoshoot/Open House Event for the newly renovated barn at Wild Goose Farm, we jumped at the chance!wg102(1of1)

Located just outside Shepherdstown, West Virginia, Wild Goose Farm is situated on 173 acres of idyllic farmland.  In recognition of its historic and architectural significance, Wild Goose Farm was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2018. Beautiful stonework walls and ruins are scattered throughout the property, creating endless photo opportunities.

This summer the owners pushed forward with some serious renovations to the lower level of the Gala Barn and the property now boasts a gorgeous Bridal Suite, Groom’s Room, Catering Kitchen and full bathroom facilities for your guests. And did we mention the entire Gala Barn has HVAC? (If you’ve been in Jefferson County in the summer, you know how delighted your guests would be to have A/C!)

The vision for the styled shoot was an “Indian Summer” vibe, a theme that’s well suited to the gorgeous wood post and beam architecture in the Gala Barn. After conferring with Westvirjeni on the color palette we were thrilled to find just the right little vintage loveseat to place in front of the spectacular wall installation of greenery Jeni had planned.

We added farm table cross-back chairs. linens and a wine bar from Jefferson Rentals and some unique tabletop pieces from BVintage. Then we mixed in dishes, glassware and other pretty things to create an Indian Summer vibe to fit any  late summer/early fall celebration.

Abigail carried a lush bouquet by WestVirjeni and Roses Too, and Adam sported a boutonniere that was a work of art in itself. With gorgeous hair and makeup by Tanique, Abigail looked like something from a fairy tale in her mustard colored dress.

This real-life couple couldn’t have been a more perfect fit against the romantic backdrops to be found everywhere on the property at Wild Goose Farm.
